Time:               10:30am to 12:30pm; Check-in at 10:15am

 

Location:       Handley Regional Library, 100 W. Piccadilly Street, Winchester, Virginia 22602

 

Who:               Kids in Grades K – 6th  

                           All participants should understand the basic rules of chess and be able to play a complete game.
 
Description:  Three rounds, first round game begins at 9:30AM and subsequent rounds as soon as possible thereafter.
Each student will compete in a quad, with three other students of similar grade (and ability level, if known).
Each player will play three rounds, one game with each person in their quad. Each game will not exceed 40 minutes.
 
Prizes:  First and second place in each quad will receive a trophy.  All participants will receive either a trophy or a chess medal. 
A brief award ceremony will be held at 12:15pm.

The cost of event is FREE and sponsored by Handley Regional Library.
